Raw food is really important, it gives us all the vitamins and minerals in their natural states that often is destroyed by cooking. However salads and raw veggies can be a bit bland if you are in transition into eating a lot more raw foods.
Garlic is mentioned in the Quran and in the Sunnah. in the Quran garlic is mention in chapter 2 Surat Al Baqaura the Cow, where the Isrealites after leaving Egypt, craved for the food they were eating while in Egypt which included garlic.
This salad dressing is great stand by in your fridge, to have to hand, to jazz up your salad leaves, tomatoes, cucumber and avocados.
Ingredients
1 whole lemon ideally un-waxed
1 tablespoon of crushed black mustard seeds
1 tablespoon of honey
1/2 cup lemon juice OR olive oil
1/2 cup good olive oil
1 bulb of garlic
According to classical Egyptian, Islamic medicine scholar As-Suyuti (ra) all of the lemon should be use as the temperaments of the various parts; the peel the pith, the flesh and the pips really compliment each other.
Now that’s what we called true whole foods as designed by Allah.
Method
if you have a good jug blender you can , cut the lemon in quarters and put straight in, its worth trying with a cheaper blender to see how it turns out, this is textured dressing anyway, rest of ingredients and blend, store in glass jar of possible and keep in fridge till need, its zingy fresh and the citrus cuts through all the other flavours and does you the world of good; boosts your immune system and makes you look younger , alhmdulilah
