QURANIC FOODS, SUNNAH TRADITION PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SAW) DATES CUCUMBER MELON

As salaam alaikum brothers and sisters,

dates are one of the staple crops of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Algeria, Iraq, Iran and Pakistan.

They are part of the Prophetic Diet because their health benefits are amazing, alhmdulilah. They are Quranic foods, Sunnah Foods.

DATES
The temperament of dates varies at various stages of their edibility. Tamr are ripe dates that are hot and dry; their hot energy repels any harmful effects of cold food.
CUCUMBER AND MELON
Cucumber and melon are from the same family. Their temperament is cold and wet and so hydrates and balances heat in the body and foods.

Hadith Dates , Cucumber, Melon, part of the Sunnah foods of prophet muhammad (saw)

Hasrat Abdullah ibn Ja’far radiyallahu anhu says, “Rasulullah salla lahu alayhi wa’ale hi wasallam ate Qith’thaa (cucumbers) with dates.”
Hasrat Anas radiyallahu anhu says, “I saw Rasulullah salla lahu alayhi wa’ale hi wasallam eat together musk melon and dates.”
“The cold effect of one removes the heat of the other, and the heat of one removes the cold effect of the other.”

You can eat them together but to help combat constipation , its best to wash the dates, remove the stones and make sure they are insect free inside ,  and soak in a cup of water over night.

Seven dates to one cup of water.

Leave to soak for at least 5 hours or ideally over night, make sure you cover them with something.

Smoothies not juices, we need that fibre.

place soaked 7 dates and water into blending jug, add 1/4 cucumber/melon  for laid back temperaments , who need the heat of the dates OR 7 dates and 1/2-1 cucumber or small melon, for hot head temperaments.

Add a little water and blend, you may like to add more water to get a finer consistency.

Alhamdulilah, this is great drink to break fast with in Ramadhan, or in the morning before other foods, quranic foods,  sunnah foods are best.
