Maca is a root vegetable and looks like a turnip but the special thing about the maca root is it from Peru where the Inca Warriors live.
It is part of the mustard family, mustard being mentioned by Allah in the Quran.

Sahih International Translation Quran

Surah /chapter 21 a-anbiya The prophets, verse 47

“ And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant.”

Maca root grows at over 4000m above sea level… Now that high up, Subhana Allaah.

Peru where the mountains are high and the jungles are green and the native people called Inca, for thousands of years, have special ways of dealing with low energy in poor air quality environments

The legendary strength of the Inca warriors was said to be due to their consumption of the super food “MACA”

Traditionally the Inca people say Yellow Maca is for women, black maca for men and red maca is rare.

The health benefits experience by Inca women are less hair loss, more energy, clear skin, less painful periods/menses.

MACA BALANCES HORMONES

Hormones are a driving force in our life especially when we are teenagers, not used to them or male.

Maca is said to stimulate the hypothalamus and pituitary glands which regulate the other glands in the body.

It is able to balance the adrenal, thyroid, pancreas, ovarian and testicular glands and as such the hormonal activity.

Maca is used to balance hormones and is good for menopausal women but brothers don’t let that put you off.

ENERGETIC TRAINING STAMINA ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION SPERM COUNT

Studies, although in early days show that Maca is good for improving erectile dysfunction, increasing libido, sexual function and general well being

Maca is a food that is proving to be useful in prevention of DIS-EASE.

According to the US Library of Medicine “Scientific evidence showed effects on sexual behaviour, fertility, mood, memory, osteoporosis, metabolism, and the treatment of some tumour entities.”

Andrea Berman, A Professor at George Town University is the author of a book called 5-Minute Herb and Dietary Supplement Clinical Consult. She says that
Claims that maca is a highly effective aphrodisiac may be exaggerated, Berman says. “Some claims are over the top — compared to a placebo, maca only slightly enhanced sexual desire. The strongest evidence is that it may increase sperm count and improve fertility in certain men,” she says.

On a personal note, I have been taking maca powder in my smoothie about 4 times a week and I feel it gives me energy, I was advised to take it by a raw foodie friend of mine, after I had a stroke and am going through menopause. Alhamdulillah praise God, I have not had a major stroke since then and am not on HRT and my mood swings are not too extreme, ask any one that knows me well.

I think it should take it every day and see if it calls down my hot flushes in shaa Allah.
