ISLAMIC MEDICINE

The fig is only mentioned once in the Quran but in the context of Allah swearing  by The Fig, in the beginning of the chapter called The Fig in the Quran. The great classical Islamic scholar of medicine, also known as The Doctor of the Heart, Ibn Jawziyyah,(ra) says this “swearing” is because of the great significance and benefits and uses of figs. The temperament of the fresh fig is hot and moist , it is hot and dry in the second instance. Al Qayyim also states that eating too many figs can cause lice

Examples as follows in Islamic Medicine:-

Cleansing Of the Kidneys

The best figs according to Ibn Qayyim al Jawziyyah, in his book “Medicine of the Prophet” are the white figs, which cleanse the kidney and bladder of gravel and give protection from poisons. Figs are high in the mineral potassium, so caution must be exercises and figs eaten in moderation.

Gravel or sand is the small particles before stones are forms and are often caused by excesses of calcium that has not been absorbed by the body.

CALCIUM ABSORBTION

calcium needs to be soluble  to be  absorbed.

The solubility of calcium is highly pH-dependent.

pH is the measurement of how acid or alkali our body system is.

Ideally the human body is between Ph 7.35-7.45, slightly alkaline

Figs are high in the mineral potassium, so caution must be exercises and figs eaten in moderation.
