PROPHET MUHAMMAD WAS ROMANTIC !!!
by Karimah bint Dawoud, Muslim chaplain and well being writer
I paid to go to a talk of what I now call one of the islamic celebrities. He said the sole purpose of marriage was to have children, I wrote this down a the time in my notebook and brought it up with him when I met him though he denied it.
I was appalled that he would cite this to an audience of 20 year olds, who are impressionable and any excuse for some men to not be nice to their wife before having sex.
There are muslim men who think that romance is a Westernised concept and for that ignorant reason are not romantic to their wife/wives; they pay the bills and go the the mosk and they think that what a good muslim man does.
Why am I picking on men?
Because man, in Islam,is the amir, the leader , the king of the house, he sets the tone of the house and the wife and children fall inot line. He must treat his wife with kindness, make suire that she is sexually satisfied not just him, otherwise she has grounds for divorce, although some ignorants would tell you otherwise.
Lets give some evidence for the Prophet Muhammad, salah la alaihi wa salem, we say we follow being romantic
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) always kept his smile with his wives and he used to laugh and please them to make them laugh as well. With all the troubles around him, he used to take his wife Aisha, to the desert and say, “Aisha, lets race!” And she used to race him and win. So, he kept on feeding her meat for a whole week, so she would unassumingly gain weight, until he took her again to the desert and said, “Aisha, let’s race!” At that time, he won and said to her, “This time I won!”.
(Recorded in Ahmad & Abu Dawood)
When was the last time you took your wife to the park? when did you play a game with her even if its scrabble?
this is just one example of doing that little extra with the wife,
for now I rest my case, alhmdulilah
