Are you a health victim ??? The only attention you get it when you are sick, which is really sad, then now is the time to do something pro active about it.
At this time of year we really need to think about boosting our immune system, especially those of us who teach in schools, work in large shops , catch public transport or are in the daily habit of meeting lots of people like in a large mosk for instance. Mothers with young children will pick up anything the kids bring home from school and usually as adults we get it worst because the children immune system is stronger than ours.
Here are a list of things you need to look out for in your health see whether you immune system needs boosting.
F.re.e Health Tip from Dr Marilyn Glenville’s “The Natural Health Bible for Women’”
When to Have an Immunity Boost
Your body sends you several signs if your immune system is in danger. Among these are:
• Repeated infections (healthy adults have two or three colds a year; if you fall ill more than four times a year, your immunity’s in trouble)
• Inflammation anywhere in the body
• Allergic reactions
• Slow wound healing
• Chronic diarrhoea
• Yeast infections such as oral thrush, candidiasis or vaginal yeast infections.
Boost Beneficial Bacteria
Your gut is home to 70 percent of your immune system. It’s your body’s largest barrier between you and the outside world. The stronger that barrier, the stronger your immune defences. The gut’s defences come in the form of beneficial bacteria (probiotics).
One such probiotic is lactobacillus acidophilus, which is also found in live, natural “bio” yoghurt. In order to colonize the gut, probiotics “feed off” prebiotics, which occur naturally in foods such as garlic, onions, leeks, asparagus, Jerusalem artichokes, chicory, peas, beans, lentils, oats and bananas which all help to boost your immune system.
Personally I take an acidophilus capsule that you can buy in health shops.
There are some remedies like Golden Seal and Echinacea which also help boost the immune system , I have written other articles on this blog about them.
